Near-Record in Opener Nets Fighting Scot’s Gallis Season’s First Midwest Conference Honor

MONMOUTH, IL (11/11/2019) Becca Gallis (Kernville, Calif./Kern Valley nearly rewrote the Monmouth College women’s basketball record book in the season-opener and earned the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor for her efforts.

Gallis opened the season in style, pumping in 32 points on 12-of-16 shooting which included a 5-for-7 effort from 3-point range in Monmouth’s 92-43 win over Central Christian College of the Bible. Her 32 points was just five short of the program record which has stood since 2002. The senior guard added 10 more points in Sunday’s 84-71 win over MacMurray. For the week, Gallis averaged 21.0 points while shooting 16-for-28 (.571) from the floor and 5-for-11 (.455) from beyond the arc. She also pulled down seven total rebounds and dished out four assists.
