Carl Sandburg College’s Corporate & Leisure College will host a free seminar from 7:30-9 a.m. Dec. 13 on what employers need to know regarding Illinois’ new cannabis legalization.

The seminar will take place at the Sandburg Annex, 209 E. Main St., in Galesburg and will be led by Galesburg City Attorney Bradley Nolden and Capt. Rodney Riggs of the Galesburg Police Department.

Starting Jan. 1, the purchase of recreational cannabis for personal use will be legal in Illinois. This seminar will go over background information on the legislation, the impact on employer drug testing and how the new law affects workplaces and employees. A question-and-answer session will take place at the end of the seminar.

Pre-registration is required, and the class is limited to 40 participants.
