Mrs. Helen P. Hohner, 95, formerly of Galesburg died at 4:06 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Liberty Village of Peoria.

Helen was born March 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, Missouri to Mr. James and Mary O. (Ellis) White. She was raised by her grandparents Charles and Lula Ellis. She married Paul F. Hohner in Hannibal, Missouri on January 23, 1945. After 67 years together, he preceded her in death March 24, 2012.

She is survived by her children Gary (Ann) Hohner of Copperas Cove, Texas; Joyce Thomas of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and Greg (Julie) Hohner of Groveland, Illinois, one half-brother Marvin White of California, 11 grandchildren Chad, Trica, Barrett, Erin, B.J., Chelsey, Kiersty, Ben, Barbie, Jenny and Mandy, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her husband, one son Frederick Hohner, and her sister Eunice Ewing.

Helen graduated from Palmyra High School in 1942. She made a career as a Registered Nurse, working for Galesburg State Research Hospital until her retirement. Helen was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg for many years. In her free time she enjoyed tracing genealogy, quilting and baking wedding cakes for close friends and family.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Rev Ann Hohner will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to First Church of the Nazarene. Online condolences may be given at www.h-p-w.com.
