William E. “Bill” Hart, Jr., 66, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 11:11 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on March 13, 1958 in Sterling, IL, the son of William E., Sr. and Carole (Rose) Hart.  Bill was raised and educated in Sterling, IL and graduated from Sterling High School in 1976.  After High School he attended the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO.

Bill married Debi Messerli on November 14, 1981 in Peoria, IL; she survives. 

Bill worked at Federated Insurance for many years.  He most recently worked at Molyneaux Insurance in the Quad Cities.  Bill served as the Pastor at the Church of the Nazarene in Monmouth for a time.  He most recently served as Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth and Village Baptist Church in Alexis.  Bill was an avid golfer and loved being outdoors. 

Surviving Bill is his wife, Debi Hart of Monmouth, IL; his children, Danielle (Dan) McIntyre of LaHarpe, IL, Emily Hart of Boulder, CO; his grandchildren, Logan (Katelyn) Keller, Janae Keller, Richelle Keller, Stella Bennett, Oscar Bennett, Danika McIntyre, Eleanor McIntyre, Owen McIntyre, Nova McIntyre; and his great granddaughter, Torvi Keller.  Also surviving is his father, William E. “Bill” (Janet) Hart of Monmouth, IL; one sister, Jo-Lea Bender of Eerie, IL; and one aunt, Linda Tempel of Fairfield Bay, AR.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Mayberry. 

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Smithshire, IL.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Memorials can be made to the Adult & Teen Challenge of the Greater Midwest and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
