A cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Diane Lynn (Hunt) Hager has been reunited with her husband Eddie Hager in Heaven. Diane passed away peacefully in the comfort of her granddaughter’s home in Alexis, IL on August 31, 2024, at the age of 72. Diane was born January 29th, 1952, in Monmouth, Illinois to Donald Hunt and Shirley (Yoder) Meyers. She married James Edward Hager (Eddie) and welcomed four children into the world. The family resided primarily in Monmouth, Illinois. Diane worked various jobs throughout her lifetime and retired from Monmouth Nursing Home. Following retirement, Diane spent her days babysitting her great grandchildren, tending to her flowers and home, playing games on her computer, and visiting with her best friend Barb Johnson. She deeply loved her family and helped in any way she could. Diane’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived for their hugs, kisses, and the excitement in their laughter. The sweet smiles on their faces brought the utmost enjoyment to her. 

Diane was preceded in death by her husband Eddie; her parents Donald and Shirley; her brothers John Talley and Billy Hunt; and her sister Mary McBride. 

She is survived by her four children, Trina (Gale) Moore, Candi (Billy Wilson) Hager, Shane (June) Hager, and Donna (Robert Hewitt) Hager; her grandchildren; Tiffany (Cory) Helms, Allysa (Jacob) Froebe, Travis Reimolds, Alex (Allie) Lybarger, Trevor (Karlie) Reimolds, Brenton Hager, Zander Hager, Devin Hager, Ariannah Renae, and Journey Hager;10 great grandchildren; brothers, Donald “Junie” Hunt, Richard (Jean) Hunt, Donald A (Diana) Hunt, Delbert Hunt, and Danny Hunt; her sisters Lori Meyers Day, Victoria Hunt, and Debra Price; and her lifelong best friend Barb Johnson. 

In honor of her final wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Diane’s remains will be buried next to her husband Eddie in Monmouth Cemetery at a private family graveside service. A celebration of life will occur on Sunday, October 20th at AmericInn in Monmouth, Illinois from 12pm-4pm. The family welcomes those who would like to celebrate Diane’s life and share memories. Donations for a memorial fund may be left for the future educational needs of her great grandchildren.
