Michael D. Rose, age 62, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away unexpectedly
at his residence in rural Oquawka on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 5:25
pm. Mike was born on November 5, 1957 in Galesburg, Illinois and is the
son of Ronald and Patricia Davis Rose. Mike was raised in Knoxville
where he attended local schools and graduated from the Knoxville High
School with the class of 1975. He then attended Carl Sandburg Community
College in Galesburg, Illinois. Mike married Nina Shaw on July 19, 1995
in Oquawka, Illinois and she is surviving. Mike was a machinist for many
years and was employed by the former, Tuthill Murray Company
manufacturing turbines in Burlington for many years. He, more currently,
was self employed as a day care specialist. Mike is an avid fisherman,
hunter, and outdoorsman. He also is an avid St. Louis Blues Hockey Fan. 

He is survived by his wife, Nina of Oquawka, Illinois and three
daughters, Aubrey Rose of Valparaiso, Indiana, Jessica Rose of Spring,
Texas, and Molly Rose of  Creve Coeur, Illinois. There are three-step
daughters, Melanie King of Key West, Florida, Wendy Rupe of Muscatine,
Iowa and Jessica Burk of Fredricksburg, Texas.  Michael’s mother,
Patricia Rose is surviving in Knoxville, Illinois and there are seven
grandchildren, Bode Cozadd, Kaleb King, Isaac King, Ronan King, Donnina
Rupe, Oliver Burk, and Piper Burk. Michael’s brother, Patrick “Pete”
Rose also is surviving in Carrollton, Texas.  He is preceded in his
death by his father, Ronald Rose and brother Christopher “Kent” Rose.

Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Mike’s life is planned
from Noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the American Legion Hall in Knoxville, Illinois. A memorial fund is established for the
Vulcan’s Motorcycle Club in Peoria, Illinois. To leave a remembrance or
