United Applies for Maintenance Grant

Share

The United School District has applied for a maintenace grant to complete life safety projects for the school district.

The grant, which is worth $50,000, will help complete projects either replacing the United football field’s lights or a well issue that needs to be improved.

United Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt describes the timeline for the grant approval:

“The grants are rolling. There’s not a set deadline on them, so the sooner you get them in, the sooner you get them approved and the sooner you can start spending. Our wish is to get the grant completed in the next couple of days and to the State by Christmas and hopefully we’ll know something by January.”

Whitsitt also says that mainteance grants are common and does not think there will be a problem getting the grant approved.
