A woodworking business in Roseville that specializes in hunting calls has signed a deal with Gander Outdoors.
Embry Custom Woodwork, owned by Jeff Embry, started their business by receiving two patents for a double-sided turkey call and a triple-surfaced turkey call. Along with turkeys, the devices work for deer as well. All of the turkey, calls, as well as their other products, are hand-made.
Embry describes how his business was noticed by Gander Outdoors:
“We submitted a demo to quite a few places. Gander Outdoors was like, ‘hey, we want to meet with you.’ So, we went up to Arlington Heights and met with them and they’re like, ‘there’s nothing like this on the store shelves and we want to carry this.”
