Mr. Vinton E. Pease, 75, of Knoxville, Illinois formerly of Oneida, Illinois died 5:50 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at Aperion Care South, Galesburg, Illinois. 

He was born September 8, 1944 in San Diego, California to Ed and Millie (Swanstrom) Pease.  He married Joanne Beth Fish February 24, 1968 in Fort Madison, Iowa.  She survives. 

Also surviving are two daughters, Missy Clevenger of Knoxville and Alicia (and Eric) Strom of Knoxville, six grandchildren, Madison Grady, Cassidy Grady, Haley Strom, Hunter Strom, and Hudson Strom, a step grandchild Caleb Clevenger, his step mother, Reba and step siblings, Jerry, Terri, Jill, Shawn and their families.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father. 

Vint graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1963.  He attended Western Kentucky University for two years.  He then graduated and received his Masters Degree from North East Missouri State, Kirksville, Missouri in 1969.  He was a teacher and coach at ROWVA High School for 35 years and retired in May of 2004.  He was a member of Oaks Community Church in Dahinda and Lion’s Club in Oneida.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting with his dogs, playing poker and watching the Western Channel on television.  He loved watching and being a part of his daughter’s and grandchildren’s sports activities. 

As Vinton requested, cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Oaks Community Church in Dahinda.  Pastor Marty Briney will officiate.  Memorials may be made to Oaks Community Church, Alzheimer’s Association or charity to the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
