BCA Organizing Summer Music Series on the Plaza

The Buchanan Center for the Arts has reopened their doors to the public and abiding social distancing guidelines. The current exhibition Hot Ice will be on display in the gallery until August 14th. Executive Director Krystine Gilbert is hopeful for a spectacular summer in order to host outdoor events in the plaza:

“We are going to have live music once a week. Each week will be a different day and a different musician or performer. As the summer goes along, hopefully the program will continue through mid to end September. Then we are also super excited because we have four area artists who have agreed to participate in a Plein Air event,” Gilbert shares.

The Plein Air event will be held this Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm on the Plaza and can also be viewed on the BCA Facebook page.

To stay up to date with all BCA events visit their website bcaarts.org or search them on Facebook.

Throughout the month of July, the Buchanan Center of the Arts will hold a Selfie Arts Scavenger Hunt. Ten clues will be given over the course of the month on the BCA Facebook page, says Gilbert:

“You will have to decipher what the clue is and then head to that piece of public art here in Monmouth, photograph yourself with it, submit those photographs of yourself via email, and we will place all of the correct entries into a drawing for $100 cash prize and an annual BCA membership,” states Gilbert.

Photos must be submitted to buchanancenter@mtcnow.net. The drawing will be on July 31st.
