Mr. Roger “Bud” Ashbaugh, 80, of Knoxville, Illinois died 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his home.

He was born November 15, 1939 in Galesburg to Meredith and Lucille (Collins) Ashbaugh.  He married Carolyn Johnson February 24, 1968 in Knoxville.  She survives. 

Also surviving is a son, Todd (and Chris Gehring) Ashbaugh of Knoxville, a daughter, Shelley (and Jon Nelson) Ashbaugh of Knoxville, two brothers, Rick (and Leesa) Pecsi of Knoxville and Don (and Hilda) Ashbaugh of Florida, a sister-in-law, Lee Ashbaugh of Quincy, Illinois, and two granddaughters, Merisa Ashbaugh and Bailey Ashbaugh.  He was preceded in death by his father, Meredith Ashbaugh, mother and step father, Paul and Lucille (Collins) Pecsi and a brother, Dick Ashbaugh. 

Bud graduated from Knoxville High School in 1958.  He then joined the United States Army from 1958 to 1962.  He was a pipefitter for the Local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union # 25 for over 30 years and retired in 1997.  He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #749 in Knoxville.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Bud’s birthday, Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Knoxville American Legion.  Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice Compassus.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
