Betty A. (Stull) Bruns, 83, of Alexis, IL, passed away at 12:50 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2020 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.
She was born on June 12, 1937 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Shunick) Stull. Betty was raised and educated in Alexis, IL graduating from Alexis High School in 1955.
She married Carl John Bruns on June 30, 1956 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Alexis. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2008.
Betty worked for Pucket Buick as a Secretary and later Alexis Ford Motor until her retirement. She was also a farm wife and kept busy working with her husband.
Betty’s greatest love was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, calendars and puzzles.
Surviving Betty are one daughter; Nancy Miller of Alexis, IL, one son; Paul (Jody) Bruns of Denver, CO, one daughter-in-law; Kelly Bruns of Alexis, IL, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, siblings; Jane (Bill) Burgland of Galesburg, IL, Gene (Judy) Stull of Galesburg, IL, Bill (Ruth) Stull of Alexis, IL, and Marty Baker of Arizona. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son; Steve (Wiener) Bruns, one sister; Kay Fox and one brother; Francis Stull.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30, Monday, August 24, 2020 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Alexis, IL. Interment will be in Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Memorials can be made to the Betty A. Bruns Memorial Fund.
