Billie A. Ross, 89, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 5:34 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL.
She was born on March 31, 1931 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Allen and Opal (Anderson) Hess. Billie was raised and educated in the Berwick and Monmouth area and she graduated from Monmouth High School.
Billie married Okey L. Ross on March 21, 1952 in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death in 1986.
Bille worked for many years as a home health care worker, she really enjoyed taking care of people. She also worked at Strom Center for many years as a cook. After retiring, she still volunteered there on a regular basis. Most of all, Billie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving Billie is her son, Mark (Shelly) Ross Texhoma, OK; one son-in-law, Buzz Martin of Kirkwood, IL; her grandchildren, Mark (Tiffany Cranford) Ross, Jr., Texoma, OK, Lisa (Corey) Miller of Williamsfield, IL, Shawna (Doug) Clearman of Moline, IL, Myranda Martin of Abingdon, IL, William (Jodie) Martin of Monmouth, IL. Also surviving are thirteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Loren Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two children, Terry Ross, Denise Martin, one great grandson, Christopher Sage; two brother and two sisters.Cremation rites have been accorded.
