Mr. Ronald L. Boyd, Jr., 54, of Galesburg, Illinois died unexpectedly at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at his home.

He was born August 3, 1970, in Monmouth, Illinois to Ronald L. and Katherine (Davis) Boyd, Sr.  He married Robin C. Engle on September 3, 2010, in Galesburg.  She preceded him in death on November 13, 2020.

Surviving are two daughters, Taylor Durant of St. Louis, Missouri and Addison Boyd of Galesburg, a sister, Jennifer (and Mike) Miller of Galesburg, a niece, Emily Miller, and two nephews, Nick Luna and Ezra Boyd.  He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. 

Ron graduated from Galesburg High School in 1988.  He worked for Butler Manufacturing Company and later Gates Rubber Company both in Galesburg.  He also tended bar at Country’s in Wataga, Illinois.  Ron enjoyed music and collecting albums, tapes and CDs.  He was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast and collected T-shirts from several Harley Davidson dealerships.  He loved spending time with his wife, and his girls and enjoying a cold Budweiser. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be shared at www.h-p-w.com
