David W. Russell, age 66, of Gladstone, Illinois passed away at his
Gladstone residence on October 10, 2020 at 8:00 am. David was born on
March 20, 1954 in Burlington, Iowa and is the son of Robert L. and
Pauline R. Rhoades Russell. David was raised in Gladstone where he
attended Gladstone grade school and graduated from Union High School.
David was previously married to Lori Ann Lillard on March 25, 1988.
David began work as a supervisor and cement finisher for Raiders Pre
Cast Concrete in Burlington, Iowa. He also loved the Mississippi river
and was a commercial fisherman with his father and others on the River
for a number of years. David loved the out of doors and loved hunting
and fishing for water fowl, ducks and geese. Surviving David is his
mother, Pauline Russell of Burlington, Iowa and his son, Andrew Russell.
His two sisters survive,Kathy Hopkins and Pat of Oquawka, Illinois and
Ann Russell of Burlington, Iowa. There are two brothers John Russell of
Gladstone, Illinois and Michael Russell of Oquawka, Illinois. There are
also a number of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins surviving. David is preceded
in death by his father, Robert, his son Andrew, his sister Stephanie
Taylor, and his special aunt, Paula “Poochie” Bailey.
As were his wishes, cremation is being accorded him, A celebration of
his life is currently being planned at a later. A memorial fund is being
established. David is in the care of Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth,
