Golf

A IHSA Class 1A girls golf tournament was held at Kewanee’s Baker Park on Wednesday. The host Boilermakers and Rockridge Rockets will move on to the sectionals after finishing 1-2 in the team standings. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, for this year, only the top two teams and top four individuals will move on to the next round. Kewanee shot a score of 380 to claim the regional championship plaque. United was 5th with a 445 and Knoxville placed 11th with a 504. Kewanee’s Mya Mirocha was the individual champ, carding a 78. Mercer County’s Mia Hillyer placed 3rd with a 91 and will move on as an individual. West Central will have two golfers at the Rock Falls Sectional at Rock River Golf course next Tuesday.
