Larry Thomas Candor, 83, of Galesburg, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
Larry was born April 28, 1937 in Aledo, the son of Thomas W. and Navola M. (Painter) Candor. He married Janice E. Youngquist on June 18, 1960 in Cameron. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2017. Larry is survived by two sons, Tom (Jeri) Candor of Cameron and Jon Candor of San Francisco, CA; one daughter, Sara (Troy) Carr of Galesburg; seven grandchildren, Amanda Moore, Samantha Oaks, Chase Chavero, Savanna Teel, Siera Candor, Sam Carr, and Max Carr; and six great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, Larry was preceded in death by one great grandson, Hayden.
Larry graduated from Monmouth College with a Masters in Business Administration. He worked as a salesman and later as the general manager at Yemm Chevrolet in Galesburg for 47 years, retiring in 2012. Larry was a dedicated and tireless worker. He enjoyed reading, driving, and travelling. Most of all Larry enjoyed his trips to Satellite Beach, FL with Janice and various family members. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him.
Cremation will be accorded. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
