IFB President Ready for the New Year

Rich Guebert, the president of the Illinois Farm Bureau says there are several key areas the organization is looking at in 2021.

“Ag labor is always a big issue and we want to continue to work on that on the federal level and with our legislatures in Washington, D.C.. Farm Policy of 2023 will begin the conversation on writing a new Farm Bill. What is that going to look like? A number of folks and speakers I have listened too, probably think it it is going to be different than what we are used to in the past, but more conservation and space for conservation practices and that going forward. We look forward to that. Broadband has always been a conversation and infrastructure, we need to continue to work on our highways and byways, get improvements on our waterways around with that being locks on the Illinois or Mississippi River and we have a vibrant rail system here in that state. We are very fortunate more so than some other states around us.”
