Vaccination Clinics in Knox County This Week for Phase 1A and Those 65 and Older

Share

The Knox County Unified Command would like to apprise our residents that vaccine clinics for those currently eligible to receive the vaccine continue to be offered in our community through Galesburg Cottage Hospital, The Knox County Unified Command COVID-19 Vaccine Center and OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center. Those eligible for the vaccine at the current time are healthcare workers and other qualified individuals in Phase 1A and Phase 1B residents 65 years of age or older who reside in or work in Knox County.

“We want to ease any concerns Knox County residents may have that they are going to miss their vaccine, or that they will not be notified by any of the three locations. We all need the vaccine, but there is an intentional phased distribution that has been set up. We will do everything we can to make sure you know when it is your time to get vaccinated, but we ask that everyone be patient and continue to check our websites and local media for updates,” reassured Michele Gabriel, Public Health Administrator.

Currently, this week, within our community between Galesburg Cottage Hospital, The Unified Command COVID-19 Vaccine Center and OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center there will be four first dose COVID-19 vaccine clinics and five second dose COVID-19 vaccine clinics held for individuals 65 years and older and for Phase 1A healthcare workers.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health as of today 7,683 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and 1,378 county residents have been fully vaccinated. This makes up 2.75% of our population fully vaccinated.

Vaccine information, eligibility groups and clinic dates and times will continue to be updated on the Health Department website: www.knoxcountyhealth.org and social media. If you have specific questions about registering or whether you meet the criteria, you may email the Health Department at covid19@knoxcountyhealth.org.
