Galesburg Youth Baseball and Softball Registration Open

Galesburg, IL (March 2, 2021)  Registration is currently open for baseball and softball through Galesburg Youth Baseball League (GYBL). The league focuses on teaching the fundamentals, is open to all youth, and practices and games are held locally. 

Galesburg Youth Baseball League (GYBL) is an affiliate program of the City of Galesburg Parks and Recreation Department. The City and GYBL entered into an agreement in 2017 to jointly offer youth baseball and softball. Through the agreement, GYBL administers the runs the baseball and softball programs, and the City provides and maintains the ballfields. 

While the registration period for baseball has technically closed, all divisions still have room for additional players and youth can continue to sign-up until all teams are filled. Baseball age divisions include: Tball (ages 4-6), Rookie (ages 7-8), Minor (ages 9-10), Babe Ruth(ages 13-15).  

Softball registration is open until April 1, and if all teams are not filled at that time, will remain open until all teams are filled. Softball age divisions include; 8 and under, 9 to 11 years old, and 12 to 14 years old. 

Registration costs vary by division from $110 – $145. Practices start April 1, and games start May 1 with the season running through June. More information and online registration be found at galesburgyouthbaseball.sportssignup.com.
