Despite Tough Schedule for Red Storm Football, Head Coach Milroy Please with Player Performance

Share

The schedule-makers didn’t do the United Red Storm football team any favors for this modified, shortened season. Among the five games that United will play, three of those teams are ranked or at least receiving votes in the latest Class 1A AP Poll. The Red Storm fell to Annawan-Wethersfield, ranked 6th, 56-44 in a week one shootout. United will play (3-0) Princeville this week. The Princes are receiving votes this week. After losing to perennial power Mercer County 36-20 last week, United will face another perennial power Ottawa Marquette next week and then end the season with a game against 10th ranked Ridgewood. The Red Storm lost, at least on paper, a favorable match-up against Mid County in the opening week of the season due to covid-19 issues in the Cougar program. Red Storm football head coach David Milroy says despite the two losses, he’s happy with how his team has played and as far as the schedule is concerned, he relishes the challenge.
