The Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for an event filled summer after having to cancel several events last year due to the pandemic. One weekly event to be held is the Farmers Market. Executive Director David Wise says the event will now be held Friday evenings in Downtown Monmouth from 5 to 7pm:
“Our market is an actual producer market. You cannot resale anything. It is going to be held on the Downtown Square in the Northeast quadrant right out in front of the Chamber. Right now we have ten vendors that are participating. One is coming from Aledo, Carthage, and Stronghurst. We have a produce grower from Carthage, an Amish Bakery from Stronghurst, and then we have a flower vendor. For industry we have a fresh meat vendor. I think it is going to be a really nice mix. Then I am also working on trying to attract some art vendors.”
Other upcoming events with the Chamber include a golf outing at Gibson Woods on May 24th, a second golf outing at the Monmouth Country Club July 26th, and back for outdoor enjoyment will be Market Alley Music Days on the second Wednesday of each month.
