Mrs. Alice M. Spencer, 95, of Knoxville, Illinois formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Courtyard Estates of Knoxville. 

She was born June 5, 1925 in Galesburg to Clarence and Ellen M. (Leafgreen) Lieber.  She married Irvin Spencer, April 23, 1943 in Pineville, Louisiana.  He preceded her in death February 21, 2010. 

Surviving are two sons, Steven (and Linda) Spencer of Bloomington, Illinois and Jeffrey (and the late Sandy) Spencer of Knoxville, a daughter, Deborah (and the late Tom) Hoffman-Pickett of Woodstock, Illinois, two brothers, Larry (and Joyce) Lieber of Galesburg and Jerry (and Barb) Lieber of Macomb, Illinois, two sisters, Clarice Palmer of Clayborn, California and Judith (and the late Tom) Wilson of Galesburg, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Hughes and Evelyn Johnson. 

Alice graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943.  She worked at F&M Bank in Galesburg for 42 years and retired in 1987.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg.  She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and a volunteer at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, May 10, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate.  Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am Monday at the chapel.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited occupancy.  Those wishing to attend the funeral “virtually” may tune into the funeral home’s Facebook page at 11 a.m. at https://www.facebook.com/Hinchliff-Pearson-West-Funeral-Directors-and-Cremation-Services-160333664037824. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
