Local Virtual Bass Fishing Tournament Announced

Share

Rodney Brent, President of Friends of Henderson County Wildlife, announces the 2021 Virtual Bass Fishing Tournament, in honor of his father Butch Brent. The event starts May 15th, and will last six weeks through June 27th. Brent explains just what a virtual tournament is and how it works:

“We’re leveraging technology through an app called the ‘FishDonkey’ app, and that is a very unique name amongst fishermen, but essentially this app allows participants to be anywhere in local waters they want to be. They enroll through this app, and then when they catch a bass, they take a picture of the fish in front of them, as well as measure the length of it on what we call a ‘fish ruler,’ and then then that goes in the app.”

The tournament will have both youth and adult weekly winners, as well as an overall winner for the end of the event. For more information on how to sign-up, or if you have any questions, visit Friends of Henderson County Wildlife’s Facebook page.
