Alice “Dolly” Chaika, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 7:03 PM at Heartland Healthcare Center, Galesburg.

Dolly was born on August 7, 1930 in Brimfield. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bleichner) LaFollette. Dolly married Francis “Finn” Chaika on May 4, 1956 in Brimfield. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 4, 2006. Dolly is survived by her son, Toby (Kristin) Vallas of Farmington; six grandchildren, Bethany (Danny) McGraw of Knoxville, Kelly (Ross) McCallister of Darien, Laney Fitzpatrick of Knoxville, and Kiley, Elin and Jia Vallas; and four great grandchildren, Ava, Emi, Ila and Jep. Along with her husband, Finn, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Missy Fitzpatrick, two brothers and four sisters.

Dolly was a graduate of Williamsfield High School. She worked at Knox Laundry and then later ran an in-home day care for over twenty years. Her life centered around her family, whom were her pride and joy. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
