City of Monmouth Getting Funding Pieces in Place for West Harlem Project

Share

The City of Monmouth has resubmitted for a CDBG grant and also applied for an earmark federal grant to assist with the cost of the upcoming West Harlem Avenue water main and street replacement project. Mayor Rod Davies has more:

“We have to get all the funding pieces in place and have to time things. We are going to tear up the road to put the water main in and so you don’t want to wait a whole year to do the road project after that so we are trying to stagger into those so that one leads to another. We are continuing to work on that, but we still have to get all the funding pieces. It is a very expensive project. Not only will the road, but the infrastructure be well over $3 million.”

The anticipated start date for the West Harlem project is the spring of 2022.
