Monmouth-Roseville Student to Play in This Year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Monmouth-Roseville Senior and Marching Titans Drum Major Zayda Martin has been accepted to participate with the Colt Cadets Drum Corp this summer and will then be a part of the Macy’s All-American band for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Martin shares what inspired her to get involved in band:

“I’ve always loved playing music. In Fifth Grade we started trying out instruments and I immediately fell in love with the low brass section. I wanted to originally be a tuba player, but we didn’t have tubas at the time so I stuck with the baritone and it just went from there.”

Only 95 middle school and high school students are selected for the Colt Cadets program to participate in a summer tour.
