The young man who shot his roommate at Western Illinois University last year is accepting his responsibility in the case. Kavion Poplous pleaded guilty to attempted murder yesterday, and he faces up to 30 years in prison. Police in Macomb say Poplous shot his roommate five times last September, and the roommate is still recovering from his wounds. Prosecutors agreed to drop a weapons enhancement as part of the plea deal. Populous will be sentenced in September.
