Jacob Bryant Legear,27, of Romeoville, died Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Galesburg.

Jacob was born August 26, 1993 in Joliet, the son of James Arnold Legear and Maria Lopez.  Jacob is survived by his mother, Maria Lopez of Pueblo, CO; his son, Wyatt Legear of Plainfield; the mother of his son, Ashley Benac of Plainfield; one brother, James A. (Antoinette Pacheco) Legear, Jr. of Pueblo, CO; and one sister, Elaina Maria Legear Lopez of Pueblo, CO.  Jacob is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Benito Rodriguez of Romeoville; and his maternal grandmother, Linda Gaylord of Galesburg.  Jacob was preceded in death by his father, James; his maternal great grandparents, Margaret and Robert Hernandez; and his paternal grandmother, Billie Rodriguez. 

Jacob will be remembered for his great love for his family, especially his son; as well his his sense of humor and kind heart.  He enjoyed watching documentaries on the History Channel, Pokemon Go and anime, dance battles in the kitchen, and music

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. July 15, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  A prayer service will be at 6 p.m.  Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate.  Cremation will be accorded following visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
