John A. Lefort, 61, of Grand View, Missouri, formerly of Monmouth, IL, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Kansas City Research Hospital after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on September 5, 1959 to Alford and Mary (Sympson) Lefort in Monmouth, IL. He attended Monmouth public schools. He married Lisa Mowen in Roseville, IL and together they had one son Joshua Keith Lefort. He later married Nedra Santana Lefort on June 22, 2011 and she survives.

In 1985 he moved his family to the Kansas City area where he lived and worked until his death. John worked many delivery jobs and in the most recent years was a self-employed semi driver. He was a member of the Joyful Sound Worship Center in Peculiar, MO, where he served as an evangelist, leading many people to Christ. He also shared his faith with people as he worked delivering products across the country. John was a most faithful servant of the Lord.

Surviving John is his wife, Nedra, of Grand View, MO; father, Alford Lefort of Monmouth, IL; sister JoElla (Dwaine) Roche of Macomb, IL; grandchildren, Haley Lefort of Broken Arrow, OK, Matthew Juba of Austin, TX; great-grandson Grayson Juba of Austin, TX; stepsons, Dominic L. (Kenya) Campbell and Eric Campbell of Kansas; niece, Jen Warmbold of Beaver Dam, WI, and 5 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one son, Joshua Keith Lefort, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
