Ralph Antonio Huante, 68, of Galesburg, died at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Ralph was born March 24, 1953 in Chicago.  He was raised by his mother Margaret Mercado-Hernandez and Robert Hernandez.  Ralph is survived by one son, Antonio Huante of Galesburg; brothers, Armando Huante, Reggie Huante, Mario Huante, John Huante, Bobby Huante, Jesse Huante, Manny Huante, David Huante, and Tony Huante, Jr. all of Chicago, Robert Hernandez of Canton, and Ruben Hernandez of Romeoville; sisters, Stella Huante and Sylvia Huante both of Chicago, Linda Gaylord of Galesburg, and Margaret Hernandez of Washington.   Ralph is also survived by his beloved three grandchildren, Alexia, Joslynn, and Antonio Huante, Jr.; and Ralph’s close friend and mother of his son, Antonio, Vicki Norris of Galesburg.  Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Huante; his mother, Margaret (Robert) Hernandez.

Ralph loved visiting with people, if he wasn’t your friend at the beginning of the conversation, he certainly was at the end.  He enjoyed many hobbies including, fishing, motorcycles, gardening, and the cheering on the Chicago White Sox.  Ralph loved all animals and was a proud papa to his three grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Reverend Father Lee Brokaw will officiate.  Cremation will be accorded following mass.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
