Monmouth College Updates Safety Protocols; Masks Required in Many Indoor Spaces

Share

With the start of the fall semester at Monmouth College just two weeks away, campuswide COVID-19 protocols will be adjusted effective Monday, Aug. 9.

Students, staff and faculty who are fully vaccinated, with no COVID-like symptoms, will be exempt from mitigation testing.

In addition, all students, staff, faculty and guests will be expected to wear face masks while inside public spaces — such as hallways, classrooms, or while attending meetings in offices and conference rooms. Individuals will not be required to wear face masks in their residence hall rooms or in the dining hall.

Michelle Merritt and Karen Ogorzalek, Associate Vice Presidents for Student Life, said the Scots are eager to return to campus and resume activities as safely as possible.

“The important thing is we’re back,” Merritt said. “In-person classes and sports are back. The plan is to move forward but we do have to listen to the (CDC) guidelines.

“Nimble, flexible, rolling with it … and protecting our community.”
