Local Car Cruisers Revving Their Engines for This Friday

Share

As one of the biggest local events in the area, car lovers all across the Midwest are making their way to Monmouth for the Car Cruise this Friday. In 2019, the show hosted over 235,000 people and 3,500 cars; Director Clifford Adams expects those numbers to rise even more this year after being forced to take 2020 off due to the pandemic. Adams reports on how he expects the Car Cruise to play out on Friday:

“This year, we’re starting things different. We’re going to start closing the streets at ten o’clock; we’re going to start at Main Street and 4th Avenues, where the city’s going to close down first, and they’re going to go all the way to North Main Street to Main and Clinton. As more cars come in we’re going to move barricades farther north. We will have a registration table up on the square selling T-shirts and dash plaques, a DJ, some good food vendors.”

Director Adams asks that people do not bring dogs, scooters, bicycles, open alcohol, or drones to the Car Cruise.
