M-R Superintendent Ed Fletcher Outlines Mask Use for Upcoming School Year

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education discussed mask-wearing protocols for the upcoming school year at a special meeting Tuesday evening. Superintendent Ed Fletcher outlines the school district’s safety measures:

“The language we use is that masks are universally recommended, but not required, in K through 12 schools, for all teachers, staff, students, regardless of vaccination status,” Fletcher said. “We expect each person in our schools to follow CDC guidance.”

Superintendent Fletcher explained some of the mask-wearing metrics that will be in place for the new school year.

“In pre-K through sixth, if we have one positive case, we’ll wear masks for 14 days,” Fletcher said. “And we’ll ask students and staff to do a precertification check. We’re not doing the paper copy (of the precertification check), we’re trusting our parents that they’re not going to send their kids to school if they’re sick.”
