Monmouth and Galesburg Show Solid Growth in Quarter 2 Retail Sales

The Illinois Department of Revenue has released the retail sales tax receipt numbers for the second quarter for 2021. Knox County Area Partnership President Ken Springer reports it showed good news for both Galesburg and Monmouth:

“Both communities continue to show solid growth in those retail sales tax receipts. The data is showing that Galesburg was up 26.1% percent over the same quarter in 2020. Monmouth is up 44.1% over the same quarter in 2020.”

Comparing those numbers to the second quarter of 2019, Springer informs a 25.1% growth for Galesburg and 13.7% growth for Monmouth.
