Mary J. Dennis, age 66, of rural Woodhull, Illinois died at 3:47 A.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois.
Mary was born on May 13, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Clyde J. and Myra L. (Brown) Stickle. She attended and graduated from ROVA in 1973. She married Thomas R. Dennis on June 23, 1973 in Oneida, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Tom R. Dennis of rural Woodhull, Illinois; her children: Michael Dean (Sheri) Dennis of Altona, Illinois and Sarah Jolene (Stanley “Skip” Simms) of Oneida, Illinois; two grandchildren: Mark and Brian Dennis of Altona, Illinois; two siblings: Rodney (Cheryl) Stickle of Mokena, Illinois and Diana (Allen) Cooper of Victoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Steven, one brother, Jim Stickle, and one niece.
She worked for the former Sears in Galesburg in Appliance Sales, sold Avon, and enjoyed working at the Galesburg Antique Mall and as owner of Mary’s Antiques. She attended the United Methodist Church in Apha and the United Church of Oneida, Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and caring for her beloved dog Lucky.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Oneida, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Oneida, Illinois, Rev. David Pyell will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Greig Memorial Library or United Church of Oneida, Illinois.
