M-R Titan Boys Fall to Brown County in Macomb Western Holiday Tourney Consolation Championship

The Hornets of Brown County defeated the Titans of Monmouth-Roseville by a score of 38-34 to take the Consolation Championship trophy and an impressive 3-1 record in the tournament.

The Hornets got a boost off the bench, as non-starters scored 14 points to help lift the team to earn hardware. Monmouth-Roseville was ahead 20-18 at the halfway point. The lead changed hands five times throughout this one. In the end, the Titans were doomed by free throw shooting. They shot just 4-for-12 as a team.

Brown County was led in scoring by Tate Fullerton’s 11. He also led the team with six assists. Sam Carr (9 points) and Gabe Blakely (8 points) also turned in solid games. Colby Wart led the team on the glass with four rebounds and with three steals.

The Titans got 15 points from Caleb Copeland. Ben Anderson pulled down eight rebounds to lead both teams.

Brown County earns the Consolation Championship trophy, after taking home the 3rd place hardware in the last tournament.
