The McDonough County Sheriff reports the arrests of Anthony L. Steward, 59, of Macomb, IL, and Jesse J. Baird, 41, of Macomb, IL for Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis 500-1000 grams and Possession of Cannabis 500-1000 grams.
On January 27, 2022, at approximately 8:40 p.m. a McDonough County Sheriff Deputy conducted a traffic stop at Illinois 336 at U.S. Highway 136 west of Macomb, IL. The vehicle, a white 1999 Chevy Van, was stopped for a routine traffic violation. The deputy then conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle and discovered 500-1000 grams of raw cannabis inside of the vehicle.
Steward, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of Cannabis 500-1000 grams and Possession of Cannabis 500-1000 grams.
Baird, the driver, was charged with Possession of Cannabis 500-1000 grams.
Both men were transported to the McDonough County Jail and are being held in lieu of bond.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
