On Saturday in the third place game of the LTC Tournament the United Red Storm fell to the Mercer County Golden Eagles 73-53. The Red Storm fell behind early in this one, as a cold first quarter hampered the Red Storm hopes. Nolan Leffler had 4 points to pace the Red Storm, who trailed 17-10 after one quarter. United found their target in the second as baskets began to fall and the Red Storm cut the lead yon32-27 at the half behind 6 from Leffler and 5 from Cormaic Flynn and 4 from Abel Wilson. A 21-15 third quarter Red Storm scoring advantage was led by Cormaic Flynn who tallied 8 and Nolan Leffler 6 to help lead the Red Storm to a 48-47 lead after three periods. But the Red Storm appeared to run out of gas at this point as the Golden Eagles owned a 23-7 fourth quarter advantage to grab the win and the third place trophy. Leading the Red Storm in this one was Cormaic Flynn with 17 followed by Nolan Leffler with 14 and Abel Wilson with 13. AJ Jenks added 7 and Aiden Parkins 2. The Red Storm will be at home Tuesday night to host Annawan beginning at 6:00.
