Hamilton Man Arrested After Short Pursuit

Sheriff Travis Duffy reports that on Tuesday April 19, 2022 deputies were involved in a short pursuit in rural Sutter, IL. Deputies had responded to the area of County Road 820 East and County Road 200 North to attempt to serve an arrest warrant on Gabriel C Dadant (age 42 of Hamilton, IL).Deputies located Dadant and he then led them on a short pursuit on a lane in a wooded area. Deputies were able to take Dadant into custody. He was arrested on a Hancock County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, Aggravated Battery, Disorderly Conduct). Deputies subsequently charged Dadant with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. Dadant was lodged in the Hancock County Jail.

All arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
