McDonough County Sheriff Petitgout Says Increase of Theft Crimes Being Seen

Share

Along with several other counties across the state of Illinois, McDonough County has faced the challenges of crime, especially theft here lately, says Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout:

“Big crime does come to the small counties. One of the things that we have really noticed at the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and the Macomb Police Department is the thefts; trailers, motorcycles, ATV’s, theft of scrap metal again, and copper, that has been huge right now. We are going to continue to work together with all of our neighbors and sort of curtail that type of theft, but that is the big thing right now. If it’s not secure, it’s gone.”

Sheriff Petitgout informs the serialization of items is also very important, making your items identifiable and taking pictures of those items as well as serial numbers.
