United Red Storm Baseball Commitment to Flexibility Helps With Early Season Weather Struggles

Share

The United Red Storm baseball team has fought through weather issues like everyone else around the area. The Red Storm have had nearly 10 games canceled or postponed this spring. They have somehow still squeezed in six games and currently sport a record of (3-3). United head coach Ryan Molek has been on high alert daily for possible additions to the schedule and very flexible as far as being available to play them. That attitude has allowed them to pick up games at Farmington with a 7:00 start time after Farmington played a 4:30 game. United also picked up a game at Galesburg this past Tuesday, after both schools had games canceled earlier in the day. The Red Storm got a 12-7 win over the Class 3A Western Big Six Conference Silver Streaks. Coach Molek says although it was nice beating a school five times its size, he was more pleased to just get a game in.

The Red Storm baseball squad is scheduled to play a home game against (5-5) Henry Senachwine tomorrow United High School. They’re also scheduled to play Tuesday at Princeville. That will start a run of 6 straight games on the road, pending any makeup games that may be scheduled in between.
