David Lorenzo Williams, 51, of Galesburg, went home to his Lord at 2:16 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1970, in Chicago, the son of Sam English and Gloria Williams. He married Tasha Easton on December 30, 2016, in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Tasha Easton-Williams; his mother, Gloria Williams; children, Narreon, David Jr., Jashaun, Deanna, Buck, Emmanuel, Myana, and Jayshawn; siblings, Marrio D. (Jacqueline) Williams Sr., Marcus T. (Trina) Williams Sr., Timothy R. (Dee Dee) Bunch, Trangi Weatherspoon, Sonya (Greg) Vickers, Jason McCray, Clarence Perkins, Jabar, and John Tiggs; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
David graduated from John Marshall High School and earned his Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Olive Harvey College. He was self-employed in the entertainment industry.
David was an active member of Second Baptist Church, helping with the music ministry. He loved music, his church, playing dice, especially 10,000, and barbequing. He was a valued member of and enjoyed the friendships of the Xclusiv Card Club. Some would say that David was a connoisseur of macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, ribs, and liver. David was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his children, family gatherings, and laughing and having a good time.
Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate his life, the family will host a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Second Baptist Church, 1530 Brown Ave., Galesburg with Pastor Kimberly Bonds officiating.
