While COVID-19 mitigations have lessened and the mask mandate is not in place, Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link says although the community is at a low level, COVID is still spreading in the area:
“It is still spreading in our community. We have kind of pulled away from our weekly updates and allowing the State and CDC to do the tracking and reporting of numbers, so we are looking more at community level spread and transmission for COVID. When we talk about our community level, Warren County is currently at a low level. Our cases might be a little elevated, but we are really not seeing a lot of impact on our healthcare system right now. Hospitalizations are low. We are not reporting deaths. The emergency room isn’t overwhelmed with COVID. Transmission is high because we have a lot of new cases. We are above our threshold of new cases, but the community level is low because we are not impacting our healthcare system right now.”
The Warren County Health Department is still offering vaccinations and boosters Monday through Thursdays from 1 to 4 pm by appointment only.
