IHSA Reverses Decision on Football Playoff Structure

The Illinois High School Association is reversing course for the Class 1-A through 6-A football playoffs.

Last February, the association announced a format change where each class would be seeded 1-through-32.

However, I-H-S-A Executive Director Craig Anderson said the association is changing its minds.

7-A and 8-A will continue to be seeded 1-through-32, but the 1-A through 6-A classes will feature two, 1-through-16 brackets.
