The 22nd Annual Balloon Race is taking place this weekend in Galesburg at Lake Storey. Craft vendors, food, games, and more can all be enjoyed at the family fun event. Vice President Jackie Saul shares when spectators can enjoy balloon launches and the night glows:

“The flights that are expected are Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday morning is optional as to whether or not the pilots want to get their balloons out again to fly. Basically, three flights for sure and then two night glows. It is 100% weather dependent. Winds can’t be above ten miles an hour, we can’t have a storm coming in, but we do our best to get those out of that trailer and get them up in the air.”

The 2022 Balloon Race in Galesburg gets underway at 3:00 Friday Afternoon. A complete lineup of events can be found online at http://galesburgballoonrace.com/v2/.
