West Central High School’s 8-man football season is set to kickoff this Friday, along with many other area high school football programs. The Heat went 9-3 last year in the 8-man format, advancing all the way to the semifinals where they fell to the eventual champions, Polo High School. On the WRAM Morning Show this morning, head coach for the West Central Heat, Jason Kirby talked about how the team can repeat last years success, and emphasized maintaining last years dominant defensive performance. In a sport that is known for a lot of offense, the Heat pitched a pair of shutouts in 2021.
