High Fertilizer Prices Expected for 2023

In a nitrogen fertilizer outlook from the University of Illinois Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics, farmers will face much higher fertilizer prices to begin the upcoming 2023 season. Local West Central FS Crop Specialist Brendan Marshall shares one factor leading to the cause was companies buying early and contracting out to customers:

According to the farmdocdaily article, break-even prices for 2023 to off-set fertilizer prices will need to near $5 per bushel for corn and $11 per bushel for soybeans.

Galesburg Police Searching For Missing Man

Galesburg police are searching for a missing man.  Authorities say Octavius McIntosh was last seen Friday at 525 Iowa Court.  The 33-year-old has a condition that places him in danger.
