Karol J. Strand, age 88, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:30 AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois with her family by her side.

She was born on May 29, 1934 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of George J. and Helen (Morse) McCaffery. She attended and graduated from Muscatine High School. She married Leonard Vaughn Strand on December 12, 1953 in Muscatine, Iowa.

Surviving is her loving husband, Leonard Strand of Galesburg, Illinois; one daughter, Diana (Bob) Pennicuff of Barnwell, South Carolina, two sons, Marc (Lynne) Strand of Oglesby, Illinois and David (Kay) Strand of Belvedere, South Carolina; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter, Bryley Karol Robison, a twin brother, Kenneth, a brother Richard and two sisters, Evelyn and Kathleen.

She cherished the call of home making. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, baking, arts & crafts, and crocheting. She loved her family, and for years she wrote notes and letters to her children and grandchildren which are cherished treasures. Everything she did, she did for Christ.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Harmony Baptist Church in Galesburg, Illinois, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
