City of Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies has granted this first full week of October as the Great Nicola Magic Week, which is also in conjunction with the Warren County History Museum’s Great Nicola Magic Fest this Friday and Saturday:
“We recognize the Great Nicola as being a lifelong resident here in Monmouth. He was a, if folks don’t know, an internationally renowned magician illusionist and had a great career. There was a lot of magic folks here in Monmouth. They had a House of Magic here in Monmouth, which was a national supply house and they offered many illusionist types of equipment and supported a number of illusionists and magicians throughout the country. We do have a great history of that and so we did this proclamation in recognizing that.”
The Warren County History Museum’s Great Nicola Magic Fest kicks off this Friday night at Meks on Main for those 21 and older as part of their Afterdark event at 7 pm, followed by family day on Saturday at the museum beginning at noon.
